1797
Yeomanry threatened to destroy mud church in Derrylin. Mrs Mary Gunn (Barney) ran to Caption Smith, Callowhill (Local landlord) for help. He not only prevented the occurrence but gave the people an acre to build a stone church on. Last Mass was said in Leginn church.

Glasmullagh Church was built on land given to FR Michael Wynne P.P. by Creighton family.

Drumderg church was built from remains of a workman’s hut.
