AprilDerrylin United Irish League met to discuss the Land Bill. They felt that the fate of the bill was in the hands of the Irish party, in whom people had the utmost confidence.
MayMr Corbest, clerk of the Petty Sessions in Derrylin, died on May 2nd. He had held the position in Derrylin for 11 years and was described as a courteous and universally respected officer.   Dr. Annesly asked Lisnaskea Council to construct a good water well with a pump in the neighbourhood of old fair-green of Derrylin. He wrote that there was no good drinking water to be had in the vicinity.   A.O.H. meeting took place. It was agreed to send a donation to the Christian Brothers in Dublin.  
June3000 people attended a United Irish League demonstration in Derrylin. The field that it was to be held in overlooked the hill of Mullyneeny and was kindly granted to them for the occasion by Mr Patrick Blake.  M.P’s John O’Donnell and Jeremiah Jordon attended.

OctoberDr Annesley wrote to Lisnaskea Council to state that there was an epidemic of Scarlet Fever in Derrylin area. He wanted a magistrates order for the removal of patients to the fever hospital. He reported the Gortaree school is infected with it and the school should close for a month. The Action was passed.
