| January | Knockninny Branch Diocesan Society – A meeting was held in Derrylin Female School to appoint district visitors and a sick committee. Matthew Green from Knockninny parish was the first in the parish to receive maternity benefit. |

| April | New Temperance Hall opened in Teemore by Bishop Finnegan |
| May | Miss Maguire (teacher of the Derrylin lacemaking class) was appointed for 3 months to take charge of the lacemaking class in Teemore for 2 days per week. Her classes were carried out in Teemore hall. |

| October | Mr Patrick Blake J.P. died on 28th October An Aeridheacht public meeting was held. Local speakers and Seán Ó Ruadháin addressed the crowd. A Céilidh was held in Gaelic hall (Miltown, Derrylin) that night. |
| November | Francis Quinn (Gortaree) died. Fr. Small C.C. transferred to Knockninny parish. |
| December | On Christmas Eve, all Catholics in Derrylin lit a candle in a window of their home. This old tradition was revived by Fr. Small C.C. |
