| May | Nine men from Arney RUC barracks were transferred to the new barracks in Derrylin. Mr John Burke J.P.(Kingarrow) was presented with a silver papal medal for his services to Derrylin Church. He was a member of the choir for 50 years. At a National League meeting in Derrylin, Cahir Healy M.P. talked of the farce of the six-county finance. Chairman FR. P. O’Reilly talked about how catholic schools only got half of the funding that protestant schools got. A Grand Leap Year dance was held on 8th May in Teemore hall. |
