MayNine men from Arney RUC barracks were transferred to the new barracks in Derrylin.
Mr John Burke J.P.(Kingarrow) was presented with a silver papal medal for his services to Derrylin Church. He was a member of the choir for 50 years.
At a National League meeting in Derrylin, Cahir Healy M.P. talked of the farce of the six-county finance. Chairman FR. P. O’Reilly talked about how catholic schools only got half of the funding that protestant schools got.
A Grand Leap Year dance was held on 8th May in Teemore hall.

JulyEdward Brady (Aghalane P.O.) died on 21st July. He was father of FR. J.P. Brady C.C. He was buried in Teemore.
